Dyson 360 Vis Nav 2: The Future of Clean is Here (and it’s Quiet!)
Let’s face it, by 2026, if you’re still pushing a vacuum cleaner around, you’re doing it wrong. The Dyson 360 Vis Nav 2 promises to be the ultimate solution for automated floor cleaning, and after a month of rigorous testing, I can confidently say it largely delivers. Building on the already impressive original, the Vis Nav 2 boasts significant improvements in navigation, obstacle avoidance, and overall cleaning power.
What’s New?
The biggest upgrades are undoubtedly in the navigation and intelligence. The Vis Nav 2 uses a more advanced 360° vision system, allowing it to map your home with incredible accuracy. I was particularly impressed by its ability to identify and avoid smaller obstacles like pet toys and chair legs. The original Vis Nav struggled with these, often getting stuck or simply bumping into them.
Dyson has also integrated a new AI-powered cleaning mode called ‘Deep Clean Pro’. This mode analyzes the floor type and dirt level in real-time, adjusting suction power and brush bar speed accordingly. I tested this on a variety of surfaces, from hardwood floors to thick carpets, and the Vis Nav 2 consistently delivered excellent results. Pet owners will rejoice at the improved hair pickup – my Golden Retriever sheds like crazy, but the Vis Nav 2 handled it with ease.
Performance
The suction power of the Vis Nav 2 is noticeably stronger than its predecessor. Dyson claims a 20% increase, and I believe it. It effortlessly sucks up dirt, dust, and debris, even from hard-to-reach corners. The redesigned brush bar features a combination of soft nylon and stiff carbon fiber filaments, ensuring effective cleaning on all floor types. Battery life is also improved, now offering up to 90 minutes of runtime on a single charge. This was enough to clean my entire 2,000 sq ft house with room to spare.
App and Features
The Dyson Link app remains intuitive and user-friendly. You can easily schedule cleaning sessions, create virtual boundaries, and monitor the Vis Nav 2’s progress in real-time. The app also provides detailed cleaning reports, showing you which areas were cleaned and how long it took. A new feature in the Vis Nav 2 is voice control integration with both Alexa and Google Assistant. I found this to be a convenient way to start and stop cleaning sessions, or to check the Vis Nav 2’s status.
What Could Be Better?
While the Vis Nav 2 is a fantastic robot vacuum, it’s not perfect. The price is still quite high, putting it out of reach for some consumers. Also, the dustbin capacity could be larger. I found myself having to empty it more frequently than I would have liked, especially after cleaning sessions in high-traffic areas. Finally, while the obstacle avoidance is improved, it’s not foolproof. It occasionally struggled with very thin wires and dark-colored objects.
The Verdict
Despite its minor flaws, the Dyson 360 Vis Nav 2 is the best robot vacuum I’ve ever used. Its advanced navigation, powerful cleaning performance, and intelligent features make it a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to automate their floor cleaning routine. If you’re willing to pay the premium price, you won’t be disappointed.
